How Invisalign Works

The first step is the consultation, which is when we will determine if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign. If the answer is “yes,” then we will create your custom treatment plan, take impressions of your teeth, and have a custom set of clear aligners made. Each one in the series will be worn for 20-22 hours a day and for 7-14 days at a time. As you progress through your treatment plan, you’ll come to our office so we can make sure your teeth are moving as anticipated.

Who Invisalign Can Help

Good news: Invisalign can correct a variety of orthodontic problems, including underbites. So, if you are having trouble smiling confidently, chewing properly, or enunciating clearly, don’t hesitate to schedule a consultation with us to discuss clear aligners! In the meantime, you can read on to learn more on the topic.

Crowded Teeth

If your teeth overlap, then you know first-hand how difficult it can be to maintain a healthy smile. Fortunately, clear aligners can address mild to moderate overcrowding – without any metal, too!

Gaps Between Teeth

Of course, some patients visit us because they are dealing with the opposite problem: there is too much space in their mouth. The good news is that Invisalign is usually still an option!

Bite Alignment

In addition to being able to correct crowded and gapped teeth, Invisalign can correct common bite problems, including overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites.

Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign has helped millions of patients over the last 20+ years achieve straighter, more confident smiles. Not only that, but it continues to be one of the most sought-after orthodontic treatments! If you are interested in finding out why, this section is for you!

The Aligners Are Discreet

Let’s begin with one of the most well-known benefits of Invisalign: the aligners are crafted from see-through plastic. As a result, they blend in instead of standing out! So, if you want to straighten your teeth without dealing with the dreaded “metal mouth,” then you should absolutely consider this popular orthodontic treatment.

Maintaining a Healthy Smile Is Easy

Oftentimes, patients with traditional braces end up buying special products, like interproximal toothbrushes. Fortunately, that’s not the case with Invisalign. In fact, since the aligners are removable, your oral hygiene regimen will remain pretty much the same! Just make sure that you take good care of your trays and keep up with your routine checkups and cleanings.

There Aren’t Monthly Adjustment Appointments

With traditional braces, patients need to commit to monthly adjustment appointments. With Invisalign, patients are able to progress through portions of their treatment plan at home. As a result, they usually need to come to our office every 6-8 weeks instead of every 4. So, if you choose clear aligners, you’ll spend much less time in the treatment chair overall!

You Can Eat All of Your Favorite Foods

Another benefit that comes with Invisalign in Worcester: you don’t need to completely change your diet! The only rule when it comes to eating and drinking is that you need to remove your aligners beforehand (unless it’s water). Outside of that, just do your best to eat healthy, well-balanced meals and limit your intake of added sugar to help prevent common oral health problems from developing.

The Average Treatment Time Is Shorter

While traditional braces usually take 2-3 years, the average treatment timeline with Invisalign is only 12-18 months. So, if you don’t want to wait 2+ years to have a straight, confident smile, you should absolutely consider clear aligners! During your consultation, your dentist can determine if you’re a good candidate and, if you are, provide you with a more precise estimate of your teeth-straightening journey.

The Trays Are Comfortable

If you had metal brackets and wires in the past, then you know exactly how uncomfortable they can be. Fortunately, Invisalign aligners are considerably more comfortable. After all, there aren’t any metal components! Not only that, but the trays are crafted from smooth plastic and have a low profile. Plus, if there is a sharp edge on one of them, you can always cover it with some dental wax to prevent soft tissue irritation.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

There are several factors that impact the cost of Invisalign, including the severity of your case of misalignment, how many aligners need to be made, and whether or not additional orthodontic accessories are required, like rubber bands. That’s why we can’t provide you with a price estimate online! Once we have the opportunity to review your dental history and complete a comprehensive oral exam, we will be able to discuss the cost more in-depth, including the different financial solutions that are available.
